Our Frog

When you’re kind to the land, nature returns the favour.

One of the most commonly found frogs in New Zealand is the Southern Bell frog, which lives in the wetland at the Grove Mill winery and is the golden mascot on our Grove Mill label.

Frogs are particularly sensitive to environmental change as they have a semi permeable skin, so they are often the first wetland inhabitants to feel the effects of pollutants.

It is believed that by providing a suitable environment for these frogs to live in, we can assist in the preservation of this charming species. Therefore, we are committed to providing a wetland refuge for the Southern Bell frogs to flourish in, whilst also supporting frog research in New Zealand.

Nature rewards us with the unique and delicious intensity of our grapes that are reminiscent in each and every bottle of Grove Mill wine.
