About Marlborough
A pure expression.
Only a generation ago, sheep farms dominated the river valleys and dry hills of Marlborough province at the top of New Zealand’s South Island. A few shrewd individuals spotted a similarity to Europe’s classic winegrowing regions with its stony soils, hot, dry summer days and cool autumn nights, but no one could have predicted the unique intensity of flavours that were delivered in every glass of Grove Mill wine.
Marlborough is now internationally acclaimed for its winegrowing and produces some of New Zealand's finest wines. It is especially renowned for producing something quite exceptional; the world’s most revered Sauvignon Blanc.
More than two thirds of New Zealand's Sauvignon Blanc vines are now grown in the Marlborough region, producing wine with a wonderful zesty, zingy and herby intensity. Wines made from Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes are also highly respected and established in the Grove Mill Vineyards.
